Is your car AC blowing warm air, cooling only while you drive, or making a noise when it switches on? At Dar Al Madina Garage in Al Quoz, we diagnose and repair car air-conditioning systems for all makes, from everyday family cars to European and luxury models. We have been looking after Dubai drivers since 2005.
We test first and repair second. Every car AC repair in Dubai starts with a pressure test, leak check and electrical scan, so you pay to fix the actual fault, not for a guessed gas top-up. You get a clear quote before any work starts.

Dubai heat, dust and long hours in traffic wear out an AC system faster than in milder climates. These are the faults we see most often in our Al Quoz workshop:
The condenser sits behind the front grille and releases heat from the refrigerant. In Dubai it collects sand and road debris, and stone chips can puncture it. A blocked condenser is the usual reason an AC cools while you drive but turns warm at traffic lights. We clean it, or replace it if it is leaking.
Refrigerant is not used up, so a low level means there is a leak somewhere. Too much refrigerant is just as harmful and can damage the compressor. We recover the old gas, fix the cause, vacuum the system and recharge it to the exact amount your manufacturer specifies (R134a or R1234yf).
Mixing refrigerant types, or topping up with DIY cans that contain sealant, contaminates the system. Cooling drops and valves or the compressor can get blocked. We flush the system and refill it with the correct refrigerant.
Pressure switches protect the compressor by switching it off when pressure is too high or too low. A failed switch can stop the AC completely even when everything else works. We test switches and sensors with diagnostic equipment before replacing anything.
The compressor pumps refrigerant around the system. Grinding or squealing when the AC is on, or no cold air at all, can point to a worn compressor. We confirm the fault first, because the compressor is the most expensive AC part to replace.
If the clutch does not engage, the compressor never starts and the vents blow warm air. The cause can be a worn clutch, a wrong air gap, a blown fuse or a failed relay. A clutch repair often costs far less than a new compressor.
The engine drives the compressor through a belt. Heat makes rubber belts crack sooner, and a slipping or broken belt stops the AC and sometimes the alternator too. We inspect and replace belts and tensioners.
A dusty cabin filter cuts airflow and causes musty smells from the vents. In Dubai we recommend replacing it every 10,000 to 15,000 km. It is one of the quickest and cheapest AC fixes.
Leaks usually come from dried-out O-rings, hoses, the condenser or the evaporator. We use UV dye and electronic leak detection to find the exact spot, repair it, and pressure-test the system before recharging.
If the fan will not change speed, the temperature will not adjust, or air comes from the wrong vents, the fault may be in the control panel, blower motor, resistor or blend-door actuators. We scan the system and repair the faulty part.
Typical car AC repair costs in Dubai are below. Your exact price depends on your car and the fault we find, and we give you a quote after diagnosis, before any work starts.
| AC service or repair | Typical cost (AED) |
|---|---|
| Cabin air filter replacement | 50 – 150 |
| AC gas refill / recharge (no leak) | 150 – 350 |
| Condenser cleaning | 100 – 250 |
| Electrical diagnosis and repair | 200 – 600 |
| Leak detection and repair | 300 – 800 |
| Condenser replacement | 500 – 1,500 |
| Compressor replacement | 1,200 – 3,500+ |
European and luxury models (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Range Rover, Porsche) usually sit at the higher end because of part prices and system complexity.

It ranges from about AED 50 for a cabin filter to AED 150–350 for a gas refill, and AED 1,200 or more for a compressor replacement. The price depends on your car and the fault, so we diagnose first and quote before starting work.
A gas refill, filter change or minor repair is usually done the same day. Compressor or condenser replacement can take longer, depending on parts availability for your model.
This usually points to a blocked condenser or a weak radiator fan. Air flowing through the grille while you drive hides the problem, and it shows up when the car is standing still.
Only if there is no leak. Refrigerant is not used up, so a low level almost always means a leak. Refilling without fixing it is money lost within weeks, which is why we leak-test first.
Have it checked once a year, ideally before summer, and replace the cabin filter every 10,000 to 15,000 km.
Yes. We work on Japanese, Korean, American, European and luxury cars at our Al Quoz workshop.
